Higher Diploma in Urban Planning (Part II)- 2023/2025

The Board of Education (BoE) of the Institute of Town Planners Sri Lanka Invites applications from eligible candidates to follow the course leading to the Higher Diploma in Urban Planning (Part II) examination conducted by the Board of Education (BoE).

The eligibility criteria for – Higher Diploma in Urban Planning (Part II) Examination are as follows,

Any bachelor’s degree of at least four (4) years duration in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Transport & Logistics Management, Quantity Surveying, Facilities Management, Agriculture, Economics, Estate Management & Valuation, Geography, Law, or Sociology from a recognized university.

AND

Minimum of four (4) years of post–qualifying experience in the area of  physical planning or urban development in a Planning related Agency/Local Authority or any other Government or private agency accepted by the ITPSL

OR

Any other bachelor’s Degree of at least four (4) years duration in a relevant field from a recognized university.

AND

Minimum of Five (5) years of post-qualifying experience in the area of physical planning or urban development in a Planning related Agency/Local Authority or any other Government or private agency accepted by the ITPSL.

OR

Any other bachelor’s Degree of at least three(3) years duration in a relevant field from a recognized university.

AND

Minimum of ten (10) years of post-qualifying experience in the area of physical planning or urban development in a Planning related Agency/Local Authority or any other Government or private agency accepted by the ITPSL.

Those who successfully complete Higher Diploma in Urban Planning (Part II) examination, shall be entitled to Associate Membership of the Institute as a prerequisite to qualify for Corporate Membership.
Higher Diploma in Urban Planning (Part II) course is conducted by the Center for Urban & Regional Planning (CURP), which is the training arm of the ITPSL under the guidance of the Board of Education (BoE).

Part II course is conducted on a part-time mode with lectures and workshops held on weekends and holidays and will be conducted for 2 years.

The total Course Fee is Rs. 300,000/- and you may pay in installments (6 equal installments)

The prospective candidates should forward their application together with an application fee of Rs.500.00. the specimen application could be downloaded from the Institute website www.itpsl.lk or a hard copy could be collected from the Institute office at no.380/10, Sarana Mawatha, off Baudhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07.

The course will commence in February 2023.

The closing date for applications shall be 31st January 2023.
