The World Town Planning Day Event 2021 and the Launching of the 40th Anniversary Celebrations of ITPSL was held as a hybrid ceremony on 6th November 2021. The Physical event was held at the Grand Oriental Hotel, Colombo. The event emphasized the committed efforts of planners to re-orient the role of town planners being imaginative, path-breaking, socially responsible to face the future with confidence. The ceremony featured Keynote and Guest Speeches, launching of Corporate Plan making, ITPSL Awards and other 40th Anniversary activities, Awarding membership to newly elected Corporate Members and Entertainment events by Young Planners Forum. More than 170 members participated via Zoom Platform, not only members from Sri Lanka but from all over the world.
The main sponsors for the event were the Urban Development Authority, Mireka Homes, Prime Lands Home Lands, Thudawa Brothers, Sathuta Builders, Span Towers and J A S Group.
