Planning and Development Regulations of the Urban Development Authority & its Implications”.

The Urban Development Authority (UDA) Planning and Development Regulations were revised and published for the first time in 35 years. The gazetted Planning & Development Regulations 2021 has various implications in different sectors. Thus, ITPSL has organized a Discussion on “Planning and Development Regulations of the Urban Development Authority & its Implications”. This discussion aims to make members of the ITPSL aware of the Urban Development Authority Planning & Development Regulations 2021 and to discuss the perspectives of various sectors practicing those Planning & Development Regulations. This discussion was held on Saturday, Sept 04, 2021, 6.00 pm – 9.00 pm via Zoom, YouTube, and Facebook.
Plnr. Nirmala Kulathunga, Deputy Director (Planning), and Plnr. Yasantha Perera Assistant Director (Planning) of Urban Development Authority presented the Urban Development Authority Planning & Development Regulations – 2021. Following the presentations of Urban Development Authority Planning & Development Regulations – 20211.  Mr. Prasanna De Zoysa, Director- Policy Planning & Regulatory Affairs, Condominium Developers Association of Sri Lanka, Archt. Dayapriya Navaratne Architectural Consultant & Senior lecturer, City school of Architecture and Eng. Nissanka N. Wijeratne, Secretary General/CEO, Chamber of Construction Industries (CCI) presented the Real Estate developers’ view of the regulations, Designers’ view of the regulations, and Construction related perspective of the regulations respectively.
This session was moderated by Archt./Plnr. Piyal Silva, Past President of the Institute of Town Planners Sri Lanka (ITPSL).
